I take a strengths-based, wellness approach to helping clients. I will meet you where
you are and will work with you to skillfully achieve your important life tasks of friendship,
work, and love. I believe that you are an expert on your life and I can help you examine
where you may be stuck by attentively listening to your narrative. My theoretical
grounding is in the individual psychology of Alfred Adler, and I will also use more
contemporary relational and integrative models, for example Internal Family Systems,
as ways of exploring what you carry and uncovering what might be interfering with
movement towards your goals.
I have spent over 30 years as a librarian and teacher serving large academic health
centers where I learned how to create safe spaces and practice careful listening. I have
rich experience in one-on-one and group settings. I have 3 adult children, who each in
their own way, through their intersecting identities, have been amazing teachers. I
identify as a grateful person in recovery actively participating in 12-step programs,
including fulfilling the role as a sponsor supporting others.
I am currently completing a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at
Adler Graduate School and practice under the licensed supervision of Kurt Pope, LPCC.
I look forward to our working together.
